EasyLink Services International Corporation acquires enterprise fax outsourcing services from GroupCast LLC
Expanded EasyLink’s market share via tactical acquisition of a small enterprise fax outsourcing business. As EVP of Global Product Management at EasyLink, John was responsible for all aspects of the acquisition.
2007
EasyLink Services International Corporation divests its RapidFax business to j2 Global Communications
Post closing of the EasyLink acquisition, EasyLink decided to exit the individual Internet fax business. The divestiture generated significant cash for EasyLink ($5 million) and enabled it to refocus resources onto more strategic initiatives. As EVP of Global Product Management at EasyLink, John was responsible for all aspects of the divestiture – soliciting potential buyers, negotiating agreements, and managing the post closing transition.
EasyLink Services International Corporation divests its Rapid Data Sync business to Aligntrac
Post closing of the EasyLink acquisition, EasyLink divested a non-strategic product line. As EVP of Global Product Management at EasyLink, John was responsible for all aspects of the divestiture – soliciting potential buyers, negotiating agreements, and managing the post closing transition.
Internet Commerce Corporation acquires EasyLink Services Corporation for $68M
Internet Commerce Corporation transformed itself from being a niche player in the EDI marketplace to a top tier player in both EDI and fax outsourcing through its acquisition of EasyLink Services. Internet Commerce Corporation retained DevelopmentCorporate to support operational due diligence, integration planning, closing, and rollout.
2005
Inovis, Inc. divests its Managed Electronic Commerce business to Internet Commerce Corporation for over $6M in consideration
As a follow on to Inovis’ acquisition of QRS Corporation, Inovis decided to exit QRS’ EDI Service Bureau business. As General Manager of the Managed EC business John was responsible for first restructuring the business to profitability and then second running the divestiture process which included soliciting candidates, conducting due diligence, negotiating sale agreements, closing the transaction and managing the operational transition.
2000
Sterling Software’s Application Management Group divests its COOL:Jex product line to Telelogic A.B. for over $10M
As a follow on to the source code licensing deal, Sterling divested the entire COOL:Jex business to Telelogic A.B. for over $10 million in consideration. As Group Vice President of Business Development for Sterling’s Application Management Group, John was responsible for leading all aspects of the divestiture process.

Sterling Software’s Application Management Group sells source code license for its COOL:Jex product to Telelogic A.B. for over $1 million
Leveraged value of intellectual property portfolio by licensing source code for Object Oriented modeling, design, and code generation John was responsible for leading all aspects of the source code license transaction
1998
Sterling Software’s Application Management Group divests it’s Korean subsidiary to Cool Software Korea.
Due to the Asian financial crisis of 1998 Sterling decided to exit its direct operations in Korea. John was responsible for leading all aspects of the divestiture process.
Sterling Software’s Application Management Group divests the former Cayenne Software’s Italian professional services organization to strategic systems integration partner.
Exited an unprofitable business by negotiating the sale of a low value Italian consulting operation to a strategic systems integration partner. John was responsible for all aspects of the divestiture – soliciting potential buyers, negotiating agreements, and managing the post closing transition.
Sterling Software’s Application Management Group acquires Cayenne Software ($25M revenue)
Cayenne Software was the combination of the former Bachman Information Systems and Cadre Technologies. The acquisition expanded Sterling’s market reach into the real time and embedded software application development tools marketplace. John was responsible for operational due diligence, integration planning, and rollout.
